Trans Pyrénées – 7-Day Mountain Cycling Adventure
Overview: 700km & 16000m of True Mountainous Challenge
Ride across the full breadth of the Pyrenees in a spectacular point-to-point cycling adventure — from the foothills on one side of the mountains to the other, crossing some of the most legendary roads in Tour de France. This is a journey through wild valleys, high mountain passes and remote villages, with every day bringing a new landscape and another iconic climb.
Along the way you’ll conquer legendary Tour de France passes including the Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aspin, Col d’Aubisque, Col de Peyresourde, Col de Pailhères and Col de Marie-Blanque — names that have become synonymous with the history and mythology of the Tour.
Why choose a Trans-Pyrenees?
The Pyrenees offer a different character to the Alps: wilder, quieter and often more rugged. The roads wind through deep valleys and dense forests before emerging onto exposed mountain slopes, with long climbs, dramatic hairpins and huge panoramic views.
Every ascent has its own personality. The Tourmalet delivers the history and drama of the Tour de France; Aubisque and Marie-Blanque take you deep into the western Pyrenees; while Pailhères and Port de Balès provide some of the most remote and demanding riding of the journey.
Recovery is part of the experience — long lunches, mountain cafés, local cheeses and hearty regional cuisine in small Pyrenean villages. Each evening brings a new stop along the traverse, creating a genuine sense of adventure as you work your way across the mountains.
