Tour du Mont Blanc - France, Italy & Switzerland – 5-Day Cycling Challenge
Tour du Mont Blanc Cycling Route: Map, Stats & Complete Guide
Take on one of Europe’s most prestigious climbing collections — Tour du Mont Blanc — condensed into a five-day, high-altitude road adventure across France and Italy. Expect sustained gradients, hairpins stacked skyward and long days in the saddle with 325km/202 miles and over 9000m/30 000ft of vertical in total. The effort is matched by reward: riding from one culinary culture to the next, from French pastry mornings to multi-course Italian dinners on mountain side villages where trattorie serve four-course menus in the evening with local wine.
Tour du Mont Blanc Cycling: One Loop Across France, Italy & Switzerland
We start and finish in Chamonix, the global capital of alpinism, setting the tone for a ride that circles the highest peak in Western Europe. Over three days, you trace the full Tour du Mont Blanc route on tarmac, crossing seamlessly between France, Italy, and Switzerland.
Each day delivers a distinct character: long valleys with stunning views of the highest mountain in Europe, sharp alpine passes, and sweeping descents that carve beneath glaciers and towering rock faces. You’ll climb the iconic gateways of the massif — from the Col des Montets into Switzerland, over the Grand St Bernard into Italy, and back via the beautiful lake of the Cormet de Roselend.
This is not just a collection of climbs — it’s a continuous journey. A true loop. Every pedal stroke carries you forward through changing cultures, languages, and landscapes, with Mont Blanc always present, shifting in perspective but never out of sight.
Five days. Three countries. One complete circumnavigation of a mountain that defines cycling in the Alps — finished, as it should be, with a well-earned meal in Chamonix.
With LAUTARET Adventures, its as much a social experience as a sporting achievement.
